The BAS 2023 annual Messier Marathon will be the weekend of March 17th and 18th in the Eagle Cove Campground at Bruneau Dunes State Park. This group-observation camping event is open to both members and non-members. We’re planning a BAS pot-luck dinner for Saturday evening, March 17th; details will be forthcoming.
BUT make your camping plans now and reserve your campsite; navigate to Id Parks & Rec-Bruneau Dunes-Eagle Cove as the roomier sites will go first. The reservation site tells us: All campsites and facilities have a maximum vehicle count. Additional vehicles are $8/each, which is in addition to the daily $7 Motor Vehicle Entrance Fee. Basic campsites are $14/night, Electric campsites are $26/night, and cabins are $60/night. (all fees are tax inclusive) For Eagle Cove: sites 50 & 51 are cabin camper; sites 50-62 and 75-88 are RV only no tents allowed. As of Feb 9, of the 50 available camp sites, 34 are still available! Don’t forget to print and bring your confirmation letter with you as part of the check-in process at the Park.
Additionally, last year there was a mini non-camping Messier Marathon locally, but nothing has been decided yet.
